Our Story
The Beer of Champaign
The Blind Pig has been a cornerstone of the Champaign beer scene since the 1990s. It opened as a craft beer bar, started brewing its own beer in 2008, and expanded into its current production facility in 2015. In 2024, Chris Knight, the original owner, sold the bars separately from the brewery, and the bars were rebranded, leaving brewery owner Matt Monahan without a taproom to sell Blind Pig beer.
Wanting to stay in downtown Champaign and offer a full food menu, Matt opened the Blind Pig Brewpub in July 2025, in the former Destihl location at 301 N. Neil St. We're proud to carry on the tradition of serving you "The Beer of Champaign" along with a wide selection of high-quality food.
